What’s involved

Your first week at Fitzgerald Power is all about getting you set up for success!

We’ll kick things off with the essentials, mastering the art of writing polished professional emails and diving into Microsoft Office like a pro (yes, even Excel will be your new best friend).

Then, it’s time to get hands-on. You’ll start using our accounting software with real-world data (no boring dummy stuff here!), and you’ll meet your buddy, a friendly Fitzgerald Power team member who’ll be your go-to guide as you settle into your role.

We’ve got your back when it comes to your accounting qualification, too! We’ll walk you through your options, help you pick the best route and training provider, and sort out all the practical bits like funding and time off. Easy.

Once your induction wraps up, you’ll jump into your team, whether that’s Pharmacy, SME, Taxation, or Corporate Finance. You’ll start by shadowing your buddy, learning the ropes, and soon enough, you’ll be flying solo on real projects, building your skills and confidence as you go.

But it doesn’t stop there! Together, we’ll map out your exam schedule to keep your learning on track. We’ll support you every step of the way, checking in regularly and helping you grow throughout the programme. And here’s the exciting part: once you’re cruising down your training path, we’ll ramp up your salary to reflect your progress and start planning your long-term career with us, all the way to partner level.

Your success is our future; we’ve got your back every step of the way. Let’s do this!

What is the team like?

Thriving and growing fast, Fitzgerald Power is a firm that takes office culture seriously. Our team excels because we foster a supportive, dynamic, and ambitious environment. If you’re looking for a place where you can thrive and grow into the person you’ve always wanted to be, Fitzgerald Power is the job for you.

Our latest graduate campaign tells the story of Sophie, a young woman who, like many, struggled with the idea of fitting into the big corporate world. Her story is one we hear often – and it’s why our graduate programme is different. We’re committed to creating a space where you can grow confidently and bring your true self to work every day. We’re a young gun, an up-and-comer, just like you, and we’re here to support you at every step.

At Fitzgerald Power, we believe everyone should have the chance to shine. We love team events that bring us together, from tree planting and local charity events to team gatherings, nights out (or in!), and gala dinners – and we’re always open to more suggestions.

Learning & development

At Fitzgerald Power, learning isn’t a one-off event, it’s our way of working.

We’ve developed clear, structured Learning Plans across key areas including SME Accounting, Pharmacy Accounting, Taxation, and Corporate Finance. Each plan runs over a twelve month cycle, designed to build expertise gradually and sustainably.

Whether you’re just starting out or looking to level up, these programmes give you the tools, support, and structure to grow with confidence.

Our goal is simple:
To equip our people with real-world, industry-leading skills and to help them shine in every client interaction

Because when you grow, so do we.

Interview tips

Research, research, research

Learn what we’re about. Explore our website to understand our service offering and the people behind each department. Most importantly, be sure to check out our brand mission, purpose and values. These are key to hiring in Fitzgerald Power.

Trust your gut

If you have been invited to the interview stage, don’t worry. You have already impressed. So take a few deep breaths and try to relax. The main purpose of the interview is for us to learn more about you, so be prepared to talk about yourself and your relevant skills and experience. We want to understand your personality and mindset as well as your skillset, so bear that in mind when answering questions and be authentic.

Listen

The most essential skill in any situation is listening. Be sure to take time to listen to the questions being asked. While we know you are keen to impress, it’s important to take some time to analyse the question to give the best responses.

Tell us why we should choose you

Talk about what you’re good at, the things you’ve done and what they demonstrate to us about your strengths and abilities. When something went well, tell us why, and what did you contribute to make the outcome a success. When it didn’t go so well, tell us how you handled it, and what you’d do differently. Give compelling, concrete examples, with facts and figures to back it up. It all helps us to really understand what you’re capable of.
