The Role

We are at an exciting point in Fitzgerald Power’s journey, and as part of our ambitious growth plans, we’re looking to welcome a Director – Accounting and Advisory into our SME department. This newly created position represents a critical role in shaping the future of our SME team.

As Director, you will lead and develop our growing team, currently comprising 12 people with additional support from other departments.  You will be tasked with managing key client relationships whilst delivering monthly billing targets, and you will be assisted by the Management Team and SME Partner.

What will you do?

Management of Fitzgerald Power’s Accounting and Advisory SME team to include workflow management, management of individual team member KPI’s and the training and development requirements of team members.  Key duties include:

• The timely delivery of client assignments in accordance with the department’s workflow and billing targets.
• Organising, planning and completion of statutory accounts, audits, management accounts and tax returns (Corporation Tax and VAT) in accordance with the workflow plan.
• Preparation and completion of ad-hoc advisory assignments.
• Managing a portfolio of clients.
• Building direct client relationships (as per the portfolio assigned).
• Delivering monthly billing targets.
• Completing all engagements in accordance with the firm’s agreed procedures.
• Capturing and reporting all KPI’s relevant for the purposes of the team’s Key Performance Management.
• Leading and managing the Accounting & Advisory SME team, together with the department’s partner.
• Working with the partner and wider team to ensure all department KPI’s are met.
• Working with professionalism and care, ensuring Fitzgerald Power’s values are always adhered to by both you and your team.

What will you bring?

• ACA / ACCA / CPA Professional Qualification.
• 5 years + PQE with Irish Practice experience.
• Knowledge of the Irish tax system.
• Proven track record in leading, managing, building and developing a team of accounting professionals.
• Strong technical knowledge & skills of Accounting and Auditing standards (IAS, IFRS, Auditing Standards etc.).

The Role

As Tax Partner, you will lead and develop our growing tax team, currently comprising 3 people with additional support from other departments. You will bring a combination of leadership expertise and hands-on, practical experience to deliver comprehensive tax advice and solutions to our expanding client base.

What will you do?

The successful candidate will grow and manage the tax division and will be expected to assist clients across the broad spectrum of taxes. This will include:

• Managing, building and leading our growing tax department.
• Building, developing and managing client relationships with existing, new and prospective connections.
• Assisting with consultancy and M&A assignments to include corporate restructurings.
• Tax research with regard to consultancy assignments.
• Tax planning / strategic tax advice.
• Advising clients on corporate and personal tax matters.

The Role

What will you do?

Reporting to the Partner and working as part of the CF Team, the Senior Manager is responsible for managing all Corporate Finance initiatives from origination to delivery. Key duties include:

• Contributing to the implementation of the CF business development plan.
• Engaging with sector targets through a structured sales plan.
• Managing the preparation and submission of new business proposals to targets.
• Working as Project Manager on Corporate Finance engagements by scoping projects, setting timelines and ensuring delivery.
• Building and maintaining strong and trusted client relationships by providing tailored solutions which create value and impact.
• Leading and coaching project teams.

What will you bring?

• Qualified Accountant with experience of operating at a senior level.
• Project Management experience along with background in CF.
• Exceptional communication & presentation skills, both written and verbal, to express technical and non-technical concepts clearly and concisely.
• Solutions based approach.
• Excellent commercial judgement with the ability to identify risks and opportunities.
• Excellent organisational skills to meet goals and set priorities.
• Excellent Microsoft Office skills, to specifically include Excel and PowerPoint.
• Be proactive, organised and handle uncertain environments.
• Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.

If you’re considering a career change, this opportunity could be the perfect fit for you.  Ideally, you have experience as an Audit Manager at a Big 4 or Top 10 firm, and are seeking an opportunity to pivot into a corporate finance role.  You’ll start by leading a transaction support team in M&A deals, with an opportunity to broaden your expertise by overseeing other corporate finance activities, including private and senior debt fundraising, business valuation preparation, and strategic advisory.
